I hear you. He's not doing it for the million dollars that he received. As an fyi, medical costs for these things are high, for example, my Dad's illness had him on life support for half a year, and the total cost was $1.5 million dollars.

Terri's been on life support for 15 years. They probably burned thru the million in a very short period of time.

While a million dollars sounds like a lot of money to most people, the public simply isn't informed about how high the medical costs. He's already burned through the million, so there's no money left. He's not doing this for money.

When 40 million boomers begin to age, everyone will become more aware of the high costs of medicine - it is a problem. Right now, our society doesn't want to talk about it. It's a serious problem that needs a discussion. I think there needs to be more inventions to lower the costs. For example, my Dad's illness could have been avoided if there were a simple medical office scanner that would have detected his gal bladder inflammation.
