What you posted to me, and what I responded with, is an example of the emotional upheaval such an event can cause.

You said it.

For myself - I feel very similar to you about how I want to be treated, but my difficulty is in making this decision for others. Terri's case convinced my wife and I to make sure we had very specific directives put together.

What is the difference between Terri Schiavo and Christopher Reeve, other than Christopher Reeve could talk? He was completely paralyzed from the neck down. Couldn't feed himself, couldn't breath without a respirator, couldn't do anything whatsoever for himself. And he wanted to live, desperately. To his dying breath he was hoping for a cure.

Would you have been so eager to kill Christopher Reeve?
