MikeJohnston,re:"cope with high inflation". HIGH INFLATION !!
According to AG and the Fed/Gov, there has been no or very
little inflation. You mean the Fed keeps 2 set of books.
No wonder Kenny Lay and Martha didn't think they were wrong.
They were just caught as escape goat.

<Continued INFLATION will only accelerate outsourcing of jobs>

It would sure be helpful if certain terms were defined precisely. Take Inflation, for instance. What's your definition?

1. An increase in the total stock of money.

2. Measured by the CPI and the PPI.

3. Rising prices of things which everyone has to BUY.

I use Definition 1 and 3. Definition 2 has no meaning to me because that is the Government's Definition and the later changes the basket of goods which are measured to suit themselves so they can manipulate the public mentality.

Defining precisely what we mean is important if we want to communicate properly and get the real meaning out into the open. To be sure, some terms are revealed in many ways. So, let's not assume, but define our definitions and elaborate accordingly.

Mike, RE: "Continued inflation will only accelerate outsourcing of jobs. Simply the US economy is becoming less competitive."

I think that's Congress' goal. Outsourcing is a great solution to artificially low interest rates, printing money courtesy of Greenspan and a Congress that loves to laden more debt and more printing.

American industries are:

Real estate
Medical
Oil
Waste services

All consumption industries. If you want innovation, you have to find a different country where the policies actually support it.

"Administrative and waste services (largely temporary help and employment services) account for 61,000 or 35% of the new service jobs. The remainder are accounted for by construction (30,000), retail trade (30,000), healthcare and social assistance (27,000), and waitresses and bar tenders (27,000)."
