I think our legal system is too little about justice and too much about VICTORY. For the lawyers, that is. Never mind the defendants. Law and Order sometimes offends me with their plea bargaining. How often I've heard McCoy say "When I walk out that door, this offer is off the table." Justice is not chess, but they play it like a game. Another thing that offends me is things like "The Tweaky Defense" where an individual is relieved of responsibility for some heinous act because he couldn't control his actions for one reason or another.
