Let me clarify my position.

I agree asset values will plunge.

And the economy will indeed experience a severe recession.

But I very much doubt that translates into CPI deflation. Especially when we look at the REAL CPI and not the phoney numbers released by the BLS.

Still, I would not be surprised to see another deflation SCARE so as to give the Fed a rationale for the next round of monetary debasement -- probably starting in 2007
