chinu. You said....."Yuu think Bush had a hand in the abolition of women's rights in the past such as in sati etc.?"......

Now what would ever possess you to say something so outrageous? " SATI " A Hindu practice something like a couple of thousand years old...abolished by Britain in I think 1929 and you ask If Bush had a hand in in the abolition of womens rights.

Do you think that stopping women from burning themselves on their dead husbands funeral pyre is " abolition of womens rights "? I guess if it was a forced procedure abolition is good but if it was a voluntary thing on the part of women then it could interfering in womens rights. :-)

GW is good chinu but gees I don't think he is quite that good.

Chinu, I spoke to some people from India today. Basically they were saying they are not interested in settling down here in the US anymore. Because the future in this country is only for rich people and the middle-class will slowly erode and join the ranks of the poor. So unless you get rich, the only other choices are to either suffer here or to get out. And for first-generation Indians who still have ties to India and contacts in India, the choice is obvious.

Keep in mind that some of these folks even have US citizenship so it is not some visa or green card restrictions that is influencing their decision. It is a purely economic decision. I could not but marvel at how folks who came here barely 5 to 10 years ago can read the situation so well whereas half the population in this country still don't get it and vote for Dumbya every time.
