Yeah, when people are severely depressed, their immune system is down, then any disease could attack, including cancer. Someone speculates that every of us has some cancer cells in our body. So why someone diagnosed with it, but others don't? Of course, there are other factors too. But emotion and personality are definitely among them. I know someone perfectly healthy died of a sudden cancer within a month of his wife dead.

In TCM theory, lung supports Qi. If a person usually in bad mood, then Qi won't be able to flow freely in one's body, so lung gets hurt. I read indeed some clinical study in the US showed many lung cancer patients have type B personality.
