I wish I had realized that the reweighting of the SPX was taking place.

This was a very special, one time, reweighting. It required that large cap stocks would be sold and small caps bought.

The one item that I am still wondering about is the stocks that are being held for SPY.

If I understand it correctly, stocks of the S&P500 are being held by the exchange that issues the ETF. They have to hold the stock. Now they are required to shift their holdings.

The question is: has the shift in holdings already taken place or will that happen on Monday?

Monday could be a very very bad day.

That would be a whole lot of MSFT, INTC and several other large cap stocks all looking for a new home all at the same time.
