You may be a Pagan - thats not for me to determine. But to describe people who celebrate Christmas as Pagans is both judgemental and disingenuous. It casts a generalization over an entire group of people and it does so in such a way that comes across as if you have the answer.

Yes, I totally agree. I have been celebrating the Solstice quite happily every year since I grew up and found out about it. The distinction I was making is that in the southern hemisphere, December is the hottest part of summer. So if Australians, say, wanted to celebrate the winter Solstice, they would not be doing so at the same time Christmas fell. So they could not share the holiday the way we must.

I wonder what kind of debate Aussies and Kiwis who are not Christians are having about people wishing them Merry Christimas--if it is an issue there, as well.
