It is technically true since people can control their brain hormones through religious ecstatic experiences. Such a behavior could very well produce an effect that is more powerful than prescription compounds of unknown long-term effects such as Prozac. Someone could find themselves in a position where chanting with Hara Krishnas at the airport prevents psychotic outbursts.

Is that "better"? "Probably" seems like a good assessment, but how do you tell "for certain"? That would require following that person and making an EXTERNAL judgement of their lives. Are you or I qualified to do that for THEM? Not in this country.

Well let's see. We were talking about medicating someone who was mentally ill. IMO religion served the same purpose for this person as drugs prescribed by a physician (by your tone I'm thinking you read the post and thought to yourself, "ah she means crack and heroin", no I didn't).

I don't know if religion or drugs were better for her. I'm thinking that with the side effects involved maybe religion was better, but since I didn't know my mom when she was on religion, I can't be certain of that.

You seem to be spoiling for a fight with me. I'm really not interested, especially when you seem to be reading my posts in a light that furthers some sort of argument driven agenda, and in the last case you just read my post wrong.

I'm sure you can find someone who would love to fight with you. I am not that person. I have never been that person, regardless of what you might think, or have thought, or might think in the future.
