Tell us about how Teppanyaki is an American creation You already posted the facts on that, Ted. Teppanyaki was invented and introduced to the US public as the latest culinary import by Benihana 1964. That was a true marketing coup. Pretty much like "Absolut", which was introduced to the US audience as the latest hip import from Sweden, when brand, bottle and everything was just invented for the US market. Years later and after the success in the US market it made it back to its "homeland". Wise one? This is all about having done some homework. No short cuts for that. Base knowledge never hurts either.
