KB,

I like to play too. They say I have a better serve than my level (4-), but a poor backhand. Mostly doubles. But in any event not bad for someone with a total knee replacement.

But there's something about the one-on-one gladiatorial aspect of professional tennis that appeals to me: fear, hope and despair are variously readily visible if you watch carefully. I look especially to see how they react to ill-fortune.

Justine Henin - a character flaw? They say love is blind; I had not heard that. I did a quick google search and could not find anything. Do you have a cite?

Nickolas Kiefer. I forgot to include him in the first tier under Federer. After Lubicic, he was the biggest surprise to me at the tournament; he easily ran through 3 matches - including Nalbandian - before being cut to pieces by Federer.
