"A LOT, if maybe even MOST of this would have been accomplished by just waiting for Arafat to die."

So you opine. Once again this thread is not about
unsubstantiated speculation or opinions stated as fact.

I realize that most folks on the left will find any excuse to
claim that Bush had absolutely nothing to do with the
positive developments in the ME. And they will blame him for
all real & imagined negatives too.

That is no different than any other development here in the
US or anywhere else on the planet. But then facts & reality
are no longer critical to their version of reality.

"Would have saved a 1/2 TRILLION $$$$ and the lives of at least 1500 dead and 10,000 wounded."

So you opine again. This time in the face of a mountain of
evidence to the contrary.

Unfortunately, history is chock full of evidence to show that
appeasement & burying your head in the sand & hoping threats
will go away consistently result in a more horrific loss of
life & economic consequences on all sides eventually.
