It was early in the last decade-either right before or right after Clinton took office-that the actuarial probability indicated that the first American was retiring on SS without the possibility of ever getting his money back.

That critical wedge has been growing, while the blank-eyed "Notch Babies" and "Social Security as Hostage Scenario" crowd has died off.

The mega-trend has manifested itself way earlier than the Democrat socialists ever suspected, and the Bush crusade for "social Security Reform" has essentially blind-sided them.

As the Bush Administration draws near its close, the debate over "Reform" will rapidly become the debate over the rate of privatization-driven PHASE-OUT.

But that's if the Dems continue to be radical Daschlists, even through their NEXT disaster in 2006.

I suspect the Democrat party will, instead, DUMP the whacko left and desperately try to LEAD on SS privatization. The light at the end of the tunnel is far too bright for them to ignore, and the alternative is that they will be buried alive for all time..
