Since we all have different priorities, I don't think you can really know what is small stuff to other people. I think it's probably extremely likely that it would be impossible for you to evaluate how members of minority religious (or non-religious) groups feel in the US, and further, that it would be equally impossible for you to evaluate what hurts those kinds of people.
