Beautiful!

Regarding making dumb statements (or asking dumb questions), I have been doing this with regularity on various internet investment chat boards such as this one for about the last 10 years, and have learned an immense amount of information about the oil & gas industry, and with a huge amount of luck have been able to make more than a coupla profitable investments as a consequence. I reserve the right to continue doing this.

You are right - seemingly dumb questions do help one to learn.
I certainly wasn't trying to pick on you ;^)

The only dumb question is the one that is not asked.
Perceptions of dumb statements can occur with anything we all say or write.

You are well appreciated around here.

Keep asking questions, Ed. "Dumb" or not, we are all making a lot of money when we learn. :-)

And I need to thank you again for publizing your E&P picks - they have made me a lot of money.

I took another look at Valero's financials for the past few years, then the past few quarters.

Sales and Cost of Goods Sold are two BIG numbers, and the spread swing up an down. Looking at the past few quarters, the spread is getting wider and this should be a VERY good year.
