Yes, I believe. With RE appreciating and ease of taking money out of your home one can pay mortgage by drawing from HELOC.

The number of people chasing distressed real estate deals in the bubble markets has skyrocketed. Few properties make it to the courthouse steps and lots of folks are now attempting to buy the properties before. This just adds to the number of options for an owner in financial duress that in prior cycles would have no choice but let the bank take the property back.
