Yes. Most schools won't allow anyone her age at all, but some will with parental permission. I plan to enroll her in one of those this year and she very much wants to attend. I'll be her instructor, though it's usually advised that relatives/friends don't instruct relatives/friends since the instructor/student dynamic is much like it is in school but much more "severe".

It's a safety issue that when the instructor says "throttle", throttle is applied without thought. I've been on the ugly side of having a student not automatically do what the voice in their helmet tells them to do and it's something we really do stress.

The students are our customers and we're thrilled to have them and hope to get them addicted to the hobby, so we're extremely friendly and accessible, but there's a "drill sergeant" edge to it.

In her case, I'm going to insist on being her instructor, since I'm already teaching her performance driving techniques, and we communicate on a level most people don't, mostly because we're fellow musicians. Since I always accompany any solos she does, communicating via body language (her watching my shoulders out of the corner of her eye to catch the downbeat following a fermata, for example) or subtle sounds (my listening for her inhale to set the downbeat and tempo as we start a song) is a habit we have. As is the necessity of heeding cues without thought.

She's turning 16 in May, so the timing should work out well. We should be able to find a school to get her into.

She drives a 94 Taurus SHO, which is a suitable (but not great -- automatic tranny) track car, but can drive a stick and wants me to get my 89 SHO ready so she can use it, since it's got a manual tranny. She's volunteered to help get it ready, although I really wonder how long she'll last on that project. The engine needs to come out and get rings, bearings, gaskets, and seals replaced because it's got an oil leak we simply can't find. It's a smallish leak I wouldn't typically worry about except that it's leaking right onto the exhaust system, keeping the car surrounded by a disconcerting amount of smoke any time it's driven hard.

While I'm on the subject (bragging on my daughter -- a frequent favorite subject), here's the solo we're doing this year. Extremely aggressive for her age. I think she does it just a tad better than this recording, but the piano player smokes me except for a mistake made 3 notes from the end that I don't make.
