I doesn't matter that Bush AND EVERYONE ELSES KID IN GOVERNMENT had great connections. I didn't and I can speak the language. And certainly the GI bill isn't the only way to go to college. You make it sound like white society will only educate blacks if we can send them to war first. For equality to stand a chance people are going to have to work a little harder. That means staying involved in your kids education and making sure they know how important it is. Poor families with uneducated parents should know better than anyone that and education matters because they're living day to day because they don't have one. Now many posts ago I stated and believe that we're still living the generational destruction of slavery and the poverty that followed. But at some point that has to change and its not just government or white people who have to try....its everyone. My Grandfather didn't have an education and was poor from the depression but all of his kids graduated from college. Damn few people are truly doomed - until they quit
