And having a game plan for those that didn't would also be smart. Oh, wait, THEIR jobs went to Mexico first, and then to China. BTW, I finished my Fritjof Capa book Hidden Connections. Excellent book. He closes on a very populist and hopeful note. Key point: Tax shifting. Don't subsidize those industries that create negative impacts on the environment. Tax oil and gas. Make solar tax free. Don't pay farmers not to feed people. Make the REAL costs of shifting jobs away from American apparent in the market place. The good news is that if this house of cards falls, the tendency is for re-organization under a new paradigm. People will have to get fed up with being marginalized. Some countries like Brazil have had enough. Venezuela is too.
