Do you think that I am not offended by such rulings?

No.

It was a post TO you, not AGAINST you.

Most lawsuits are justified and the compensation is reasonable.

That is something that can be debated, but it is certainly true that most lawsuits and awards are far more reasonable then this one.

Tim

A post about the Schiavo case by Kholt on "Politics for Pros- moderated"

From what I know about both of you opinions on this matter you are both on the same side. Personally I've ambivilant. But I agree with the points she makes here.

"think that there are a lot of people who would agree with that. I also think that those people nodding in agreement would be split on the target of their prayers--just who it is that is "putting this woman through hell" and what "hell" is in this case.

I can't remember the last time I saw a conflict in which both sides sincerely had only the best of motives--but had diametrically different notions of what the best interests of their object were. (Maybe it was the Elian Gonzales affair.) I think that there could be a silver lining in this if the opposing parties can come to understand that both sides in this are well meaning, even noble, each in its own way and that the opposition is not evil but rather just has a different point of view.

I don't think that there are any bad guys in this. I am suggesting that we all consider it from that perspective."
