Its not a nitpick its an instance of substance.

If I made a long post, in which I put the one sentence "GWBush is the greatest president who ever lived". You might want to respond. You might not, because you are not going to respond to every partisan comment, but if you did choose to respond it wouldn't be reasonable for me to just say that you are nitpicking. And the Taiwan issue is more of an issue of substance than the relative status of Bush compared to other presidents.

As for the US and "world domination". My reaction to that would depend on how exactly you use the term domination. Frequently it means to control or rule, but then you can be a "dominant power" without ruling the world.

As for the US as a "rogue nation" I think that is a silly idea.
