If the dollar continues to drop for a few more years we might see a lot of businesses including both US and foreign move operations from overseas to the low cost flyover country. Perhaps there is a method to Greenspan's madness.

You cant be serious
labor costs are 20-1 or 30-1
Are you suggesting a 95% drop in the dollar?

Supposed that happened and we had wage parity.
Would it still make any sense to build new factories here when there are already factories there?

Most of these plants were planned and built when the dollar was hitting new highs. One could understand why a German or Japanese auto company might want to build here in that labor costs are lower in the US heartland. If you can figure out how it is my husband's Elantra can be built here and sold for as little as it is, then you might have a better handle on the nature of "outsourcing" and foreign direct investment flows.

If that method involves working a 10 hour day so you can (barely) purchase a Burger King value meal (just like Malaysia!), then I guess there IS a method to what Soylent G is laying down for us....
