This will be an interesting test of how much times have changed. Charles may find, as did Edward VIII, that if your mistress is not acceptable as Queen, you have to choose between her and the throne (unless they simply forgo getting married, or the law is changed). As for that business about Camilla being "Duchess of Cornwall" and then "Princess Consort", it did sound like Charles was reverting to the morganatic habits of his German ancestors, but it's clear there is no basis in British law for it.
