If you don't have a living will, get one. Since I was the care giver for both parents and went through a long their illness and ultimate demise with a lot of decisions that had to be made it is so so so important that everyone has one.....I DO.

There are many nuances to an illness. What is resuscitation? When should it be administered.? What is the person wants to die and asks to die because life as become untenable as with the case of my mother who was incontinent, completely deaf ( no hearing aid could even help ) unable to walk disoriented because of the medications that she had to take...She wanted to die.. However, it was a long process but at least there were these guides that she was not to be resuscitated which I what must have been done with T.S..

If you can picture yourself in a chair looking like Terri and unable to communicate it would persuade you that one never knows when an auto accident would put anyone in that condition. We all think we will live forever but safeguards put in place about how we die are essential. DO IT NOW.

RE: "human being is being starved and dehydrated to death rather that being issued a lethal injection"

This is how many brain-dead resuscitated heart attack patients > 10 minutes w/o breathing are handled. I don't think it's legal to do lethal injection.

This case might get Congress to discuss death and the process of dieing. Death is discussed openly in foreign countries, but not in the USA.

Amy J
