my understanding was that according to the legislation, ms. schiavo was to be given a de novo hearing...

i do not see how that has happened, only a 2 hour pleading of the 2 parties

and of course without a restraining order given to maintain her life while the process plays out, ipso facto, she is has been condemned to death without that hearing (assuming she dies of dehydration before the appeal can be heard and possibly reverse the latest decision)
