===> "Starvation, for a person whose cognitive functions have been completely destroyed so they have no sense of what is happening, is a better alternative than continuing to exist is a permanent, vegetative state." <===

The choice is between lying tortured on one's back, in a vegetative state for 24 hours per day, hour after hour, day after day, week after week, month after month, year after year, hour after hour.....

OR

Having Terri's soul go to Heaven for a most wonderful, beautiful, eternal experience hour after hour, day after day, week after week, month after month, year after year, hour after hour.....

Many people, I would think, would prefer to live a torturous life, flat on the back 24 hours per day, then to receive the rewards of a Heaven. Strange choice, isn't it?

She isn't going to starve to death. She is actually going to die from lack of water. Like dying in the desert.

Shouldn't the family be allowed to make that decision? And No, the husband is NOT family.
