I think clinical immortality is close to possible today. About the only organ that they can't replace with an artificial contraption is the brain. And if the brain is dead, what's the point of keeping the other organs pumping away? Is that in any way Godly?

I think we are close to jumping to say 300 year life spans, and with cloned body parts longer. Maybe space travel will kick in then
