What is naive is the anti-intellectual arguments put forth by the Christian right. Conservative Christians practice exclusivism to the detriment of the body simply because the do not understand. I will tell you how naive I am Greg. I am so naive I accept the theory of evolution and believe ID theory is false and deceptive.Jesus said; ""I tell you the truth, it is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I go, I will send Him to you. "And He, when He comes, will convict the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgment; concerning sin, because they do not believe in Me; and concerning righteousness, because I go to the Father and you no longer see Me; and concerning judgment, because the ruler of this world has been judged.'" John 16:7-11 Why are you posting this? Did you not understand my original post to you?Jason, The Spirit must reveal the truth to people before they will believe but that is not because the truth is irrational! It is necessary for the Spirit to reveal the truth because men actively suppress the truth in unrighteousness. The Spirit uses the word of God to convict a person of their need for a savior and the truth about Christ's sacrifice for their sins. Then and only then does He graciously grant them repentance and faith, so that no one can boast. Are you agreeing or disagreeing with me here? I agree with what you have written above and I stated this in my previous post. Here is the problem. You come at people like a godsend. "Here I am with God's truth, listen to me!" But when people are turned off by your approach you dismiss them as willfully ignorant. This board has many intellectuals. Become like them so that you can reach them. Spouting off tired quips about Jesus will get you nowhere.
