LB,
Training for our Special Forces Operators (Green Berets) has been extensively modified for today's battlefields and future projected battles.

The changes have now been approved. These changes will be integrated into the training cycles over the next year.

The professionals who worked on this believe these changes will (as in the past) endure for at least 15-20 years.

I expect to receive a copy of all the training modifications in a day or two and will comment again after I read them.

While discussing this with a senior representative of the SF community in NC a few minutes ago, he commented that all of today's SF warriors and our SF Groups are at the highest level of combat readiness. Personal training and tradecraft skills are well-honed across the board. SF now has the highest level of combat experienced operators ever.

SF recruiting is going well. There has been an increase in SF volunteers and more men are getting past the initial testing to start training. The latter is attributed to providing an extra round of initial training for those volunteers with less than three years service.

About a week ago, 14 Green Berets were awarded the Purple Heart in a ceremony in NC. I was told everyone of them has already volunteered to go back into combat. We are fortunate to have such men in America.

For those who read "The DROP", don't miss my lengthy article in the "Bugged Beer Can" Section. GC addresses the same subject from the STMP viewpoint in a separate article elsewhere in the magazine.
