KB, TX,

I talk several times a month with my friends in China and no one even hints that things are changing. All live in either Shanghai or Tianjin.

The economy continues to boom, you can't breath the air and winters/summers suck. Winters from burning coal in Tianjin and summers in Shanghai with the heat. Rolling blackouts in the factories aren't much fun when the air conditioning goes out in Shanghai. The Chinese or foreign factory owners will pay for the oil.

It's also getting more difficult to find employees willing to work like slaves. Working in an electronics factory is not much fun and I have been through many of them in China. The contract manufacturers including the company I worked for provide a relatively nice working environment but it's very tedious with long hours. Rows and rows of women performing some type of manual labor.

Slider, if you haven't been to Shanghai or Beijing, take the direct UAL flight from Chicago and go see what's happening for yourself.

You may change your mind about a few things especially regarding current and future growth.
