That's not the reason people are harsh and judgemental. It is so THEY that judge can feel better. By saying kids should somehow, in a vacuum, enthusiastically embrace the values and language of the middle and upper class just shows how little the critical observers actually know, or care. By making it the kids' fault, there is no social responsibility.
