My father had a split in his aorta, coma until death thing. Family went home to wait for the call, I stayed. The '83 Bears were winning a football game and he woke up as sharp as when he was 20. He had the no treat thing and the oxygen was drying him up. I got them to add the water back in. He would have died in terrible, awake thirst if I hadn't been there.

I stayed the afternoon and night and we talked like equals, not father and son. Next morning he wanted some breakfast, that had been on the off list, so I ordered him some eggs. That he wouldn't have gotten if he was on the TS diet.

His aorta really split and hold his hand I couldn't pull him back I'm done

MD,

Obviously this has gotten really twisted at this point, but wouldn't you agree that a DNR would be appropriate? Palliative care, but no heroics when she becomes ill.
