Excellent question! You could even see Bush snicker a bit when he made the "err on the side of life" statement. He knows he's just saying what the religious right wants to hear.
Of course, they don't want to hear about stem cell research.

You know what is funny. These religious freaks spend their whole lives preparing for and contemplating their deaths, as if it's much better than this life, yet they want Terri to stay in this miserable world with the rest of us?!?
