you are more likely to be hit by lightning than to be killed while going to school. Shall we take away the guns from storms?

This is a tragedy, but should not be blown out of proportion. It is rare. The best thing to do is to learn what the signs of distressed youth are and teach people top recognize them.

Education is always better than trying to plug the holes in the dike.

A single gun in the hands of a qualified person could have made it much better. And I said that I am not advocating giving guns to teachers, so don't imply that I am.

There are stringent laws about this (as there should be) in CA. Not sure of MN's laws, but my guess is the grandpa would be in trouble if he was not dead.
