<I haven't misrepresented your sentiment at all. >

You didn't ASK what my "sentiment" was - you instead assumed you knew. If there was any room for misinterpretation, you took it rather than ask, "What do you mean?" What factual opinion is was, in context, that "Through a pattern of poorly thought out actions, one logical consequence of which was World War II, we provoked Japan and other countries multiple times in the previous decades through miscalculations in various countries, especially central America and the Philippine Islands, but also to some extent Japan." Try not to get lost in your opinions about me and focus on what is written. We probably shouldn't discuss this because you come in mid-way through a conversation about posting highly biased and acrimonious tripe (maybe that's what you think of my posts) and make assumptions about my political or historical theories.

We as a country should be circumspect (I never suggested we "beat ourselves up"), and we would be stupid to not seek some understanding of the complexity behind our actions, frequently involving rich people and a manipulated media.
