"The only destabilizing force we know is the lunatic in the White House

THE INTERNATIONAL FORECASTER editor Bob Chapman writes: George and the neocons are relentless in their pursuit of ending relations with Venezuela.

During a trip to Brazil, Don Rumsfeld, US Defense Secretary said, "I can't imagine why Venezuela needs 100,000 AK-47s, I can't imagine what is going to happen to those 100,000 AK-47's. I personally hope the delivery doesn't happen, if it did, it wouldn't be good for the hemisphere."

This is what is called smart-ass remarks coming from an arrogant bully who cannot get his own way and who had made a complete mess of the Iraq quagmire. His inference is Venezuela should not arm themselves ... while he is arming Colombia to the teeth in an unfriendly light.

Cheney's reference to usage is that Venezuela is going to arm FARC.

The bottom line is President Chavez defends his country and its people and Washington is not accustomed to meeting up with someone who works outside the box, so he is labeled a "destabilizing force."

The only destabilizing force we know is the lunatic in the White House. Rumsfeld is trying to coerce Brazil into withdrawing its support of Venezuela. Our answer is, Ron, not in your wildest dreams.

President Hugo Chavez Frias tells USA ... "don't even think about it!"

THE INTERNATIONAL FORECASTER editor Bob Chapman writes: Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez Frias has designated Army Major General Julio Quintero Viloria as Military Reserve and National Mobilization Commander.

A territorial army, consisting of ex-servicemen and women, will augment a national defense strategy to integrate the Armed Forces into a national development.
This is a national deterrent being formulated to protect Venezuela due to actions over the last several years by the Bush administration and Colombia.

President Chavez Frias says if he is forcibly removed from office or assassinated, that his domestic opponents will face a government far more radical than his government. Mr. Chavez has said ... "don't even think about it."

Argentina's Diego Maradona is an ardent fan of Venezuela's President Chavez

Arriving in Venezuela to inaugurate a South American youth championship, Argentina's soccer legend Diego Maradona said he's an ardent fan of Venezuela's President Hugo Chavez "Long live Chavez, long live the Revolution!"

Argentina's former World Cup winning captain told reporters "I'm a revolutionary!"

Maradona (44) was attending a press conference in Maracaibo just after he arrived from neighboring Colombia where he has recently had surgery on his stomach in an effort to lose weight ... although he is considered to be one of the greatest soccer players of all time, Maradona is now overweight and suffers health problems.

Maradona, helped Argentina win the World Cup in 1986, but spent more than a week in intensive care in a Buenos Aires hospital a year ago with heart and breathing problems. He stopped playing professionally in 1997 and has lived in Cuba since 2000, where he underwent treatment for a cocaine addiction ... he returned to Cuba last September.

Showing off a tattoo of legendary Argentine guerrilla Ernesto 'Che' Guevara on his arm, Maradona is invited as the special celebrity guest to kick off a South American under-17 soccer championship this upcoming Friday.

Maradona said he plans to meet President Hugo Chavez Frias today during a meeting with visiting Spanish Prime Minister Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero and the presidents of Brazil and Colombia, Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva and Alvaro Uribe.
