For a brief period of time, (taking into consideration the whole span of man's history) mankind managed to create wealth to an extent that it could be spread and diminish poverty.

That was made among a few chosen countries. Once the pressure to spread it even more, the end result is that the pople that are used to a certain level of wealth, will see it diminish.

That will last a couple of decades until it reassert itself once again.
