Lovely post. In truth, alot of the barroom heroes voting for W are more than obnoxious. You know what, they don't care. These whackos are the sons and daughters of your average Joe Six Pack Americans fighting the war in Iraq.

You know what, they deserve their day in the big tent more than the influential Red State liberals that think their education buys them enough clout to act superior. It cracks me up when people paying $30,000 a year for college out of their parents hard earned savings turn around and act like they give a shit about anyone other than themselves.

I love the rednecks out there in the Blue States. They are the true Republicans driving around with yellow ribbons on their cars to support the troops. I wonder what the ratio of Rebublicans to Democrats voice active support for the troops. The Democratic constituents and leadership lost all credbility during the election process once they denounced support for the war in Iraq.

Imagine if we did not have troops in the Middle East protecting free market access to the oil supplies. What if we let the terrorists completely overrun the Middle East and blow up all the pipelines. That would be a disaster. Truth is, the Middle East needs the West to keep the killers from destroying more lives in places like Iraq.

I would imagine just as many Iraqis were dying at the hands of the Sunnis before we got there. The mass graves that have been recovered show the brutality of the Sunni leadership. They can't be trusted and they have the Shiites so scared they are afraid to speak against them.

Anarchy is no solution for Iraq. We need our troops to keep whatever level of peace is possible in Iraq. If the Sunnis choose to boycott the election process so they can butcher more of their Shiite countrymen, we need plenty of soldiers from the wrong side of the track to be crazy enough to volunteer to try and stop them.

jrhana, Don't blame the actions of religious zealots on Republicans. There are, probably, more Republicans that are realists, than Democrats. I vote Republican because no other party has fielded a candidate that was good for the American way, which excludes the socialistic beliefs of the liberal Democrats, and have been doing so since 1962. The actions, and words, of the religious fanatics try to find a place that they can appear to be legitimate from which to spew their biased ideas.

I believe in a supreme entity, that English speaking people call God, and from personal experience, know that there is a force for good that could be considered the acts of Christ, but most of the elements of the early pages of Genesis are nothing more that oral legend, and have been scientifically debunked. As with any legend, there is a seed of truth, but by the time it got written down, the tales had been warped beyond reason.

I make reference to a supreme entity, because even if one believes in the "big bang" theory, some force had to bring the elements for the explosion together and provide the ignition.
