<We could have destroyed/killed the looters, controlling the looting without killing a lot of people and probably destroying a fair amount of what they had been looting would have been more difficult.> We could have vaporized Iraq in five minutes -- that would be overwhelming force. But we didn't. Instead, we sent in a "light" force and watched the country fall apart and the criminal elements, religious fanatics and terrorists filled the void we created -- that is not overwhelming force -- that is overwhelming stupidity.
