Where is the truth that she is a battered wife? Everything I've heardwas that was one of the tacks taken much later by his in-laws that was laughed out of court as having no merit and no proof. Suddenly it's common knowledge that he was pounding on her and her condition was likely caused by that.

I don't know of any proof that he was a wife beater or tried to kill her. You have a husband who wants to go on with his life because his first wife is brain dead. Now if he was beating her it will raise an eyebrow. But for right now what we have are people (her family) who don't agree with whats being done. Based on that I think one could also conclude that they may be willing to pull out all the stops just to win. I don't have all the facts nor do I think anyone else does. If they did we'd be able to come to a conclusion.
