My philosophy and Gregs are not that different. Where we differ is how we address those outside of our faith. Heaven and Hell are meant for the believer. For those who know nothing of God or who do not believe I see no point in talking about abstract concepts. Christians as a whole are too dogmatic and intolerant. This is in contrast to Jesus who accepted all who came to him. I believe it all stems from spiritual pride. We claim to have all truth and close our minds to others and their POV. But what I have discovered is that everyone has something to offer of worth. It is only by listening and ditching our agendas that we can discover what that something is.

"It's funny that I'm presumably lumped in with "God Haters". I'm an agnostic." I was referring to others specifically but there is a sense in which all of us either are, or were, enemies of God. Apparently God does not recognize Agnosticism as a valid excuse. Romans 1: I realize these kinds of posts don't make me the most popular person around here but I do it not because I'm trying to be a jerk, but because I really do believe it's true. I appreciate your generally gracious and balanced approach to me. I think we probably have quite a bit in common. I was raised Unitarian and thought Jesus was just a nice guy until I actually read the claims he made for myself. I like the outdoors, I hunt, I fish, I am active in my community. My wife runs a breakfast program that feeds hungry kids before school and I go in and help out on a fairly regular basis. On Friday I am going to Kenya and we are taking all the books and shoes and school supplies we can carry. My daughter is working in a school there that has a total of 9 books for the entire school. I know most of my neighbors and I play hockey as often as I can with a bunch of great guys who are mostly not Christians. Basically I think I'm just a regular person trying to live a decent life helping those who are less fortunate than I am and wanting to share the most important thing that I know. That is that Jesus Christ died for my sins and rose from the dead to prove it. I'll be gone for a few weeks; Have a good time without me:)
