Actually, in the past year, we added about 36 million barrels to the SPR, not 100 million as you stated. Or about 100k barrels a day.

Hmmm, I think ripple is too strong - riffle is more like it.

We can build invetory any time we want to - just lower the refinery production and import the products we are not producing.

Look at the total picture. Gasoline down 4.1 million barrels, distillates -2.8 million barrels. Crude up 4.1 million barrels. Way I total it up, we are down ~2.8 million barrels.

So, the trough of the riffle.
