Last night, I did a quick search on Michael Schiavo to see what more info I could find out about him. I was blown away with what I found.........the conservative blogs are completely abuzz and working feverishly to malign this guy. The man has been so vilified, I can't believe attempts on his life have not been made. According to them, he is right up there with Hitler in terms of malevolence. A nurse's damning affidavit on M.S. that was thrown out by the courts as not being credible is being passed around as if its the last word on the subject.

While I can understand your concern about family privacy.......its hard to know whether to stay silent or to attack back. I fear silence suggests agreement with their position and with their hate. I hope the USSC rejects the Schindlers' plea to hear their case.

JF, So we're back to states rights, are we not?

The overextension of "equal protection" is irrelevant to the issue of states rights. Besides, I'm pretty sure some justices on the Supreme Court will also overextend "equal protection" if and when the issue of gay marriage ends up in their chambers.

Let's just say that it's served the Republic pretty well over the years, and one person, with no brain function, dying is probably not a reason to start over.

I think the "equal protection" tangent has gone way too far to relate this particular thread back to Terri Schiavo. Suffice to say that both sides can get hypocritical when it comes to states rights, life or death, etc.
