1994 was a good year actually compared to the carnage we have in tech today. There were plenty of speculative high tech stocks you could have bought in 94 and made money. Forth networks or something like that, remember them? Also the app software like oracle and psft doing VERY well in 94. The point being, yes it was a down year but there was leadership. Not now, no leaders. The most you can hope for here is that your stock treads water.

From a companies standpoint its a different story though. I visited a startup today, doing 20mm looking for 100mm in the next 2 yrs. They want a system to scale to 1 billion revenue. I wondered if this market even gives a damn about a company like this, everyone might have had a chance to get rich in 94, not today.

this market can't even hold a 10 pt gain in the naz for even a day.

Gas around here is $2.50 now, I think we may go over $3 this summer and then its a recession.
