" My attitude then was how dare the parents tell the husband what to do with his wife?"

Michael Schiavo did not make the decision to discontinue life-prolonging measures for Terri.

Are you saying it was the court's doing? Wasn't it he that petitioned the court to discontinue life support?

Oh wait, I think I see what the abstract is saying......to insure that the decision could not be disputed, he had the court hear both sides and then make the ultimate decision. Is that the distinction you are pointing out?

The right have depicted him as a monster but from what I've read, he did what any reasonable person would do to save his wife. And when the futility of that action became apparent, he came to the conclusion that to prolong the situation just made things worse.

The Schindlers are beginning to remind me of the parents of
Scott Peterson. In spite of overwhelming information to the contrary, they insist on believing in the conclusion that makes them happy.
