I'm an optimist. I think that things will get better in Iraq.

But I was an optimist about that before the invasion. I was optimistic that the Iraqi people would be able to take control of their lives with out bombing them first.

Even Bush now says that the diplomatic option is in the forefront when dealing with Iran and Syria. I feel that the diplomatic tools were put away too soon. That planning for any needed invasion was incomplete. That war occurred before we hit that fork in the decision making tree. That the aftermath of the invasion was poorly planned and executed.

For other nations that wish to have more freedoms, they'll have to remain optimists...because a pessimistic revolutionary is a dead revolutionary.

From here...I hope that lessons were learned, and that things can get better. Like I said I'm an optimist.
