The process of vetting the Army is now going on. Didn't you read the article I posted?

We're doing now what we had planned to do up front until the plan was scrapped. Only now that job is tougher, because many defected to the insurgency, and many more don't trust the US because they went back on their word of retaining the army. And on top of that they cut off all military pensions and widowers pensions.

What I would have done is take away their guns and give them tools. Shovels and hammers and saws...and put them to work at twice their army pay. Then though working with them in this manner and having them mostly on bases and compounds during the beginning of the vetting process much could be learned about them. Much could be ascertained right away by examining rank and position.

Panacea? Hell no there is no panacea in war. What do you think bombing the crap out of Iraq was...a panacea?
