millions of dollars earmarked for federal programs that are designed, among other things, to promote traditional marriage and teach sexual abstinence.

Teach sexual abstinence? That's like "teaching" people not to eat! The government should be promoting more healthy sexual activity (not less, ya idiots!) because it is natural, enjoyable and highly in demand.

The right has this huge fear that most teachers are sexual predators and specifically prey on children. In their minds, the only reason people are willing to enter a profession that pays so poorly is because of the huge virgin population to be tapped. Its why they are putting the cabosh on cheerleaders in TX.

If it is highly in demand (and I agree with you it is) than it doesn't have to recieve government promotion.

The government shouldn't be telling people to eat more either.

You could make a reasonable argument for the government to tell people that they should eat healthier or have safer sex, but people will go after food and water and sex because of their natural drives, we don't need commericals for it.

Can you imagine; "Sex, its good, go get some! Brought to you by the Ad Council, and the United States Dept of Health."?
