We keep switching views from opposite ends of the telescope. One end we see through the eyes of a family their view of their child. Turn around the telescope and we are looking trough the eyes of Congress making laws for 250 million people. Very hard to make sense of the thing when the perspective changes so vastly so quickly.

i don't believe they view her daughter's life as a playing field
